Best Buy Braintree Features Harry Potter Black Friday 2011 Ticket at Midnight Opening

Best Buy has decided out of concern about the early Black Friday openings to move its Massachusetts start times to 1 a.m. on Nov. 25, including at Braintree, and to cancel its Harry Potter screening. More information coming in a separate artice.

Long lines expected earlier than ever at the South Shore Plaza this Black Friday will not be the only unsually busy late-night/early-morning sight in Braintree on Nov. 25.

Across town on Grossman Drive, Best Buy is scheduled to open at midnight and host a freeHarry Potter movie screening for those waiting for once-a-year deals.

Best Buy will show Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 free, outdoors starting at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. An hour earlier, costumers will be offered refreshments and snacks.

“Black Friday has increasingly become an event, a ritual for so many,” Brian Dunn, Best Buy’s CEO, said in a statement. “And this year, Black Friday doesn’t start the day after Thanksgiving, it starts the minute after Thanksgiving. At Best Buy, we’re thrilled to be there for our customers  as we give them an early preview of doorbusters, reward them with gift cards and entertain those in line with an outdoor screening of the final Harry Potter film.”

In the Boston area, Braintree is among four stores screening the movie ahead of their Black Fridat openings. The others include Framingham, Everett and Marlborough.
