Black Friday 2011: Wallmart Store Hours and Amazon Black Friday 2011 Deals

Black Friday is starting on Turkey Thursday this year! That’s right, shoppers can start their bargain shopping on Thanksgiving in 2011. That way, you can polish off the stuffing and mashed potatoes and then head straight to Walmart. The doors open at the mega retailer at 10pm this year. Amazon has a lot of Black Friday 2011 to offer online. Just check it out now.

Why the change? Well, apparently people would rather stay up all night than go to sleep and wake up at 3am to line up outside of their favorite retailers.

“Our customers told us they would rather stay up late to shop than get up early, so we’re going to hold special events on Thanksgiving and Black Friday,” said Duncan Mac Naughton, Wal-Mart’s US chief merchandising officer.

You’ll have to wait until the stroke of midnight for electronics deals like the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinnect for $199.96 at the mega retailer, however. Only clothing and other household items will be on sale between 10pm and midnight. Then, everything’s fair game at the stroke of 12. These sale prices will last through November 25, but the merchandise might not.

Other stores like Target, Macy’s, and more will also open at midnight. Check store websites and newspaper ads for further details on the best prices and ads around.
